Charitable Contributions

A significant part of HTA’s philosophy is to give back to the communities in which we operate. We offer uncountable transportation donations for winning sports teams and parades and millions of dollars donated to local causes.

St. Vincent DePaul Village Annual Children’s Holiday Party

Each holiday season, Old Town Market and Old Town Trolley Tours host 35 children from the St. Vincent DePaul shelter for an afternoon holiday party of burritos, sodas, piñata, Mr. & Mrs. Claus, holiday gifts and a holiday trolley night tour of the San Diego city lights. Children’s ages range from 5-14. Over 150 children, with one or both parents, live at the downtown San Diego shelter. Of those 150 children, 35 are rewarded to participate based on the shelter’s criteria. All 150 remaining children at the shelter are also given gifts. Trolley CASTmembers, Old Town Market merchants & their employees, visiting guests and the local community, donate gifts, food & refreshments and their time. Restaurant ‘Chipotle’s, donates burritos, quesadillas, and chips. The holiday party is a huge success and enjoyed by all.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and each year, Old Town Trolley Tours CAST members look forward to participating in weekly fundraising events to support this great cause.

Here are some of the ways Old Town Trolley Tours gets involved:

Conductors and CAST members volunteer and participate in their own fundraising efforts which include the donation of daily tips, weekly bake sales, a silent auction and raffles.

On select days, at our ticket booths, bottled water is offered to our guests for a donation request which is then contributed to the cause.

CAST members, family and friends sign up for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society event, “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.” Our “pretty in pink” trolley participates in this event held every year.
