After a much needed spa treatment, the Flagship of the City of Key West, the Schooner Western Union, has returned to service. The last working schooner built in Key West, the 139-foot ship was built as a cable layer for the Western Union Telegraph Company. For over 35 years, the ship laid cable all over the Caribbean. Today, the beloved ship is back as a floating, not-for-profit maritime museum for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Guests can tour the decks or enjoy her day sails, sunset sails or stargazer cruise.
